Restorative Renewal: A Trauma-Informed Practice
with Farrah Yaspe
MON OCT 5, 6 - 7:15 PM EDT (MON OCT 5, 6 - 7:15 PM EDT)

Create sacred space to make self-care a ritual practice in this 75-minute class

devoted to slowing down and gently opening the body through passive

stretching. Grounded in trauma-informed and alignment-based principles,

this practice supports students in cultivating safety, ease, and attunement to

their own internal experience.

Restorative postures — including light twists, seated forward bends, gentle

backbends, and supported supine poses — are thoughtfully arranged with

the aid of props to encourage structural support and ease of alignment.

Poses are held for several minutes, allowing the body to soften into deep

relaxation and rest. This extended stillness activates the parasympathetic

nervous system, helping to downregulate stress responses, restore depleted

energy, and support the body's natural capacity for healing.

Some classes may also include pranayama (breathing exercises) and/or

meditation, offered as additional tools for grounding and nervous system

regulation. Sessions are often woven with inspirational or reflective themes,

inviting quiet self-inquiry alongside physical release.

Consistent with trauma-informed practice, all cues are invitational and

choice-based, and modifications and options are offered throughout so each

student can honor what feels right for their body. This class is the ideal

recharge to transition from the weekend into the week ahead — a gentle

reset for both body and nervous system.
